Editor of ‘Flaneur kulturalny’ show for National Audiovisual Institute (2011-2012). Author of articles and interviews published in Polish (‘Kino’, ‘Film’, ‘Ekrany’, ‘Kwartalnik Filmowy’) and international press (‘Images’, ‘Iskusstvo Kino’, ‘Schegge’), co-author of several books on film and cultural matters. Member of Dante Alighieri Association and Wroclaw Film Foundation where he organizes Polish Cinema for Beginners project.
Agnieszka Sękowska graduated in Psychology Studies at Warsaw University, Creative Producers Programme at Wajda School, AMA in Krakow and MAiA Workshops. Worked as line producer for the Polish biggest private broadcaster – TVN on documentary formats. Simultaneously she worked as a creative producer at StudioM on documentary projects. After that she started developing film projects as an independent producer and creative producer at Agencja Filmowa. Meanwhile, she set up a film foundation called Fundacja Przestrzen Filmowa with her film friends. She is the producer of the international film festival and competition 48 Hour Film Project in Poland, that was nominated to Polish Film Institute’s Award in a category: „Film education”. She is a creator of an international programme for emerging producers: Film Lab Warszawa – Berlin. All the time she works also as an art director, director and scriptwriter of many commercial projects.
From the beginning of her career associated with the media old / new, a trained HR specialist, a political science with a specialization in „communication media”, the postgraduate psychology of communication media, courses on coaching, participant of many workshops and film courses. Co-founder of Poland’s largest network of professional blogs, online PR specialist. Co-founder of Przestrzeń Film Foundation – a member of the board, co-organizer of: 48HFP in Poland, film labs/workshops, Polish Cinema for Beginners Warszawa. A fan of Golden Age of Hollywood, polish animation, short films.
Completed Law at University of Warsaw and Film Studies at Jagiellonian University in Cracov. At the 2006 Orange Factor Film Festival in Cracov in 2006 got recognition for the independent short film “What The Author Had in Mind”, a project with Michal Domaszewski. Was the assistant director of the Polish major motion film Ciacho (directed by Patrick Vega, 2010). At the 48 Hours Film Project Warsaw festival in 2012 his own film “How Many Degrees In A Warm Voice?” won 6 awards, namely, film of the year. Since 2011 he has run Discussion Film Club Faktor Berliński He took part in the work of Jameson CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival’s FICC Jury in 2014 as the jury member.
